What is Turbo Debit Card?

The Turbo Debit Card is a prepaid Visa card from TurboTax.

TurboTax is a popular low fee tax preparation service and its prepaid card is marketed together with its tax software as a convenient and faster way for users to direct deposit their IRS tax refund.

How it Works

At the end of the Turbo Tax filing process, the software offers users the ability to get their tax refund via the Turbo prepaid Visa card.

If you do not have a bank account, the Turbo Debit Card will get you your refund faster – when compared with getting a check in the mail.

However, If you already have a bank account, you can choose to have your refund direct deposited into your bank account.

The first step to logging into your Turbo Debit Card account is to visit the Turbo Debit Card website and click on “Log In” as shown in the image below.

Next, you will be taken to a screen that looks like the one below.

Once there, enter your Online User ID and Password as shown below and click on “Log In”.

If you entered the correct username and password, you will be taken to your account.

There, you will be able to see your account balance, recent transactions and the contact information for the customer service and dispute departments.

Retrieve Turbo Debit Card User ID and Password

Click on the “Forgot User ID” or “Forgot Password” link as shown below.

If you forgot your User ID, here is how to retrieve it.

Forgot Turbo Debit Card User ID

If you don’t remember your Turbo Debit Card User ID, click on the “Forgot User ID” link as shown in the image above.

Next, you will be taken to a page like the one below where you will be asked to provide the following information to retrieve your User ID:

Social Security Number
16 Digit Debit Card Number
3 Digit CVV Number at the back of your Debit Card

Once you enter this information, click “Submit” and follow the instructions provided to retrieve your User ID.

If you forgot your password, here is how to retrieve it.

Forgot Turbo Debit Card Password

If you don’t remember your Turbo Debit Card Password, click on the “Forgot Password” link as shown in the image above.

Next, you will be taken to a page like the one below where you will be asked to provide the following information to retrieve your password:

Social Security Number
16 Digit Debit Card Number
3 Digit CVV Number at the back of your Debit Card

Once you enter this information, click “Submit” and follow the instructions provided to retrieve your password.

How to Register Your Turbo Debit Card

If you have a new Turbo Debit Card, there are several benefits to registering your card online.

If you don’t register your Turbo Prepaid Card, you may not be able to use some of the features available to you.

In addition, you may also have fewer protections in the case of loss or theft.

Here’s how to register your Turbo Debit Card:

The first step to registering your Turbo Debit Card is to visit the Turbo Debit Card website and click on “Log In” as shown in the image below.

Next, you will be taken to a page like the one below.

Once there, click on the “Create Online Account” link as shown by the arrow below.

You will be directed to a page like the one below.

Once there, you will be asked for the following information to register your card:

16 Digit Debit Card Number
Expiration Month and Year
3 Digit CVV Number at the back of your Debit Card
Your Birth Date
Zip Code you used to sign up for the card.

Once you’ve provided the information above, click “Continue” for further instructions on how to successfully register your card and gain access to all the features your Turbo Debit card has to offer.

How to Activate Your Turbo Debit Card

When you receive your Turbo Debit card in the mail, typically within seven to 10 business days after your card is requested by your TurboTax professional, you will have to activate the card before you can begin using it.

Here’s how to activate your Turbo Debit Card:

The first step to activating your Turbo Debit Card is to visit the Turbo Debit Card website and click on “ACTIVATE CARD” as shown in the image below.

Next, you will be taken to a page like the one below.

Once there, you will be asked for the following information to activate your card:

16 Digit Debit Card Number
Expiration Month and Year
3 Digit CVV Number at the back of your Debit Card

Once you enter your card number, expiration date and the security code that’s provided with your card, click “Next,” and you’ll receive confirmation that your card is activated.

How do I check my Turbo Debit Card account balance?

There are four ways to check your card account balance.

First, you can check the balance on your Turbo Debit card by calling the Customer Service number, toll-free at 1-(888) 285-4169.

Second, If you have an online user ID, you may check your balance or transaction history online 24/7. See our instructions above on how to login to your Turbo Debit card account.

Third, Turbo Card balance and transaction history are available on the Turbo Prepaid Visa Card mobile app.

Download the app for free from the App Store or Google Play to get started.

Finally, you may also get your balance and transaction history by sending a text message.

Carrier message and data rates apply.

To get your available balance, text “BAL XXXX” (XXXX is the last 4 digits of your card number) to 43411.

Second, you can deposit cash at the register of 100,000+ retail locations nationwide, including 7-Eleven, CVS, Dollar General, Rite Aid, Walgreens, Walmart and more.

This is done through the Green Dot at the Register cash service.

Here’s how it works:

Hand the associate your cash, they’ll swipe your card, and it’ll load automatically.

However, a reload fee of up to $4.95 applies.

Also, reload and card balance limits apply. Be sure to keep your receipt just in case you need to reference it later.

ASAP Direct Deposit

Get your pay up to 2 days before payday or get your government benefits up to 4 days before benefits day.

However, it’s important to note that the timing of your Direct Deposit depends on deposit verification.

Furthermore, it also depends on when Turbo Debit Card gets notice from your employer or benefits provider and may vary from pay period to pay period.
