There are three ways to activate your Direct Express debit card.

How to get a Replacement Direct Express Card
Here are the steps on how to get a replacement Direct Express Card.
Step 1 – Call Direct Express Customer Service
If your Direct Express Card is lost or stolen, here’s what do to:
First, immediately call the Direct Express card toll-free Customer Service Department number on the back of your card.
A customer service representative will assist you to order a replacement card.
The number to call is 888-741-1115.
You are allowed one free replacement card each year.
After that, you will be charged $4.00 for each additional replacement card you request.
Step 2 – Choose your shipping preference
You have a choice of how fast you want your replacement card shipped.
Option 1 – If you select Free Standard Shipping:
Your replacement Direct Express will be shipped for free using standard first-class mail.
The card will arrive in 7-10 business days and there is no tracking for this mail.
Option 2 – If you select Free Standard Shipping:
For a $13.50 fee, you get expedited shipping.
With this option, your replacement Direct Express card will arrive in 3-4 business days after it is mailed.
Step 3 – Direct Express will process your request
Here’s what happens next:
If your Direct Express card was lost, stolen, or never originally received, Direct Express will cancel that card.
You should review your transaction history to ensure no unauthorized transactions have occurred.
However, if your card was damaged, you can still use your existing card for transactions that don’t require the 3 or 4-digit security code on your card while you wait for your new card to arrive.
Once you activate your replacement card, your old card will no longer work.
