Option 1 – Call Customer Service

Option 2 – Write to Bluebird Card

Sometimes, the best way to get the fasted response is through the old fashion way – snail mail. This is true when disputing a fraudulent transaction.

If you calling from the phone number associated with your Bluebird card, you will be ask to enter the last 4 digits of your Social Security Number

Step 3 – Next, the auto attendant will provide the balance on your card

Press “6” for the Main Menu

Here is how to register or activate a new card on Bluebird.com

Register Bluebird Card

You can register your new card online at Bluebird.com. When you visit the Bluebird site, click on the “Register Your Card” link.

You will be taken to a page where you will be asked if you already have a temporary Bluebird card. Select “Yes” as shown below.

Next, complete the information requested below:

  • 15 digit Card Number
  • 4 digits Security Code in front of your card
  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Mailing Address
  • Phone Number
  • Create a Username & Password
  • Date of Birth
  • Social Security Number (This will be used to verify your identity. Bluebird will not check your credit and there is no credit check required to get a card).
  • Create ATM PIN
  • Set up Security Question and Answer

Once you’ve entered all this information, check the box at the bottom to agree to the disclaimers, then click on “Agree and Submit”.

Congratulation, you have successfully activated/registered your Bluebird Card online.

How to Check Bluebird Balance

Here is how to check the balance on your American Express Bluebird card.

Temporary Bluebird Card Balance

First, before you can check the balance on your temporary Bluebird card, you will need the following:

  • Your temporary Bluebird card number (15 digit number)
  • Four-digit security code on the front of the card

Permanent Card Balance

You can check the balance on your permanent Bluebird card online or via phone.

To login to your account online, click here. Once you successfully log in to your account, your card balance will be displayed at the top of the page as shown below.

How to get a Replacement Bluebird Card

Here are the steps on how to get a replacement Bluebird Card.

Step 1 – Login to Bluebird Account

You can request a replacement card online. Here’s how:

1. Log in to your Bluebird Account

2. On the Home screen, select your Main Account

3. Click or tap the gear icon

4. Select Replace Card

5. Confirm your address. Your replacement card will be mailed to the address we have on file for you.

6. Select the reason you are requesting a replacement card

Step 2 – Choose your shipping preference

You have a choice of how fast you want your replacement card shipped.

Option 1 – If you select Free Standard Shipping:

Your replacement Bluebird card will be shipped for free using USPS first class mail.

The card will arrive in 7-10 business days and there is no tracking for this mail.

Option 2 – If you select Free Standard Shipping:

For a $20.00 fee, you get expedited shipping through UPS Carrier Delivery.

With this option, your replacement Bluebird card will arrive in 3-4 business days.

Note that expedited Shipping is not available to customers in Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Step 3 – Confirm and Submit your Request

Next, select Continue to confirm your card replacement request and then submit your request.

Step 4 – Bluebird will process your request

Here’s what happens next:

If your Bluebird card was lost, stolen, or never originally received, Bluebird will cancel that card.

You should review your transaction history to ensure no unauthorized transactions have occurred.

However, if your card was damaged, you can still use your existing card for transactions that don’t require the 3 or 4-digit security code on your card while you wait for your new card to arrive.

Once you activate your replacement card card, your old card will no longer work.
